FFL/SHIPPING INFO
Shipping your firearms may sound like a complicated and daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. Here’s a break down on how to ship your firearms in to 2AC or anywhere else simply, legally and safely.
If you don’t want to deal with the hassle, most FFL’s will be willing to handle the shipping of your
firearms for you, for a fee. Just show them a copy of our FFL. Weather using USPS, FedEx, or UPS the process requirements are all the same. You as a legal firearm owner are fully allowed to ship your firearms yourself to an FFL. You CAN’T ship firearms to another individual. All firearms must be received by an FFL.
The first step is to know you are shipping to a valid FFL holder and that they are aware they will be receiving your firearm.
On this tab you will find a copy of our FFL that you are welcome to print off and include in your package containing your firearm. A courtesy phone call or email to give a heads up about an incoming shipment including a tracking number is always a good practice. Make sure you have a secure hard case to package your firearm in; the cardboard box your firearm originally came in will also work. Include in the package a copy of the receiving FFL, just in case of random package inspection. Regardless of how you’ve packaged your firearm, we strongly recommend still wrapping the whole thing in something like brown packing paper, not only to add another layer of protection but to also not draw any more unnecessary attention to your package containing your valuable firearms. Shipping firearms is not illegal in any way, but its good practice to not willfully disclose the contents of any package unnecessarily for a multitude of reasons. If you’re shipping a handgun or anything with a barrel under 16 inches, you can use FedEx or UPS. Shipping a handgun through USPS requires an extra form only accessible to an FFL.
When shipping a Long gun with at least a 16” barrel, you can use whatever shipping service you prefer. Always ship your firearms via 2 day priority or equivalent and ALWAYS have signature confirmation, this is a legal requirement! With weight and dimension information 2AC is also happy to create a shipping label for you. Getting a label through us will generally get you a slightly better price on shipping and in most cases we can even schedule to have it picked up from your residence and save you a trip. Firearms can also be shipped back to you directly, if they are being sent in by you in the first place and are already legally owned by you. If however you are purchasing a firearm through an FFL or the firearm has NOT been in your legal possession before, then the firearm must be received by an FFL.
For example: If you have purchased a firearm online and have chosen to have it shipped here to 2AC for custom work BEFORE having it shipped again to your location, the firearm must be received by an FFL, because, you have NOT had that particular firearm in your possession before.
If you have questions about shipping firearms, feel free to call us at or send an email.
